Introduction
Vehicles are a crucial component of our TMS that empowers you to effectively manage your fleet and optimize route planning.
By adding your vehicles to the system, you provide the TMS with essential information about your available resources, enabling it to create efficient and cost-effective routes.
The system considers vehicle characteristics such as type, weight capacity, and dimensions when generating route plans, ensuring that the right vehicle is assigned to the right job.
This helps prevent overloading, underutilization, and other inefficient use of resources.
How to Add Vehicles
To add a new vehicle to your fleet:
Go to Resources
Click on Vehicles
Click either New Vehicle or Add Vehicle
Fill in the required fields:
Name: A descriptive name to identify the vehicle.
Status: Select either "Approved" or "Waiting Approval." Note that vehicles with a "Waiting Approval" status will not be considered for route optimization.
Type: Specify the vehicle type (e.g., truck, van, car).
Registration Number: Enter the vehicle's registration number.
Model: Indicate the vehicle model (e.g. Elantra).
Make: Specify the vehicle make (e.g. Hyundai).
Production Year: Enter the vehicle's production year.
Color: Specify the vehicle color.
Weight and Inner Dimensions: Provide the vehicle's weight capacity and internal dimensions.

Managing Existing Vehicles
Access the Vehicles page.
Click on a vehicle's ID to edit its details.
To delete a vehicle, click the Delete icon.
Assigning Vehicles to Routes
Routes can be assigned to specific vehicles from the added fleet. To ensure efficient resource utilization, the TMS will only display vehicle options that match the route's specified vehicle type (e.g. if the route is planned for a van, only vans will be displayed as available vehicles).
You can also associate a vehicle with a specific driver under the Drivers page. However, these vehicles cannot be directly assigned to routes. Instead, when assigning a driver to a route, their associated vehicle will automatically be considered for that route. If a driver has more than one associated vehicle, they will be asked to choose one in the Driver App.
