What Is a Transport Management System (TMS): Setting the Context

Imagine an airport during peak-time travel: planes navigating a complex network as they take off and land to reach their destinations safely and on time. Behind the scenes, a central hub precisely coordinates each one of their movements - the control tower.

This intricate brain of air traffic has been meticulously wired to function. It requires complex connections to radar systems and weather stations, communication channels with pilots, and air traffic controllers with an unflinching understanding of every button and command.

Now think of our Transport Management System as the control tower to your last-mile logistics. Similar to how an airport’s traffic flows under the watchful eye of its control tower, the entire delivery process will flow seamlessly through our TMS, from your warehouse to the customer’s doorstep.

Last-mile logistics refers to the final step in delivery, when goods or services arrive at the customer's doorstep. It plays a big role in how happy customers are with their experience, so we really want to get it right!

Route planning, route optimisation, real-time tracking, fleet management, analytics, reporting, and integration capabilities are the main capabilities of our TMS.

Let’s look closer at each feature!

Orders at a Glance

The Orders Page is the command centre for all deliveries. Create, track, and manage orders, all in one place. Import from your ERP or Excel, visualise on a map, and even group them together for efficient delivery routes.

Services at a Glance

Services are the counterparts of Orders. They help to plan and track the execution of activities like furniture assembly, meter reading, repairs, etc. Services can be imported from your ERP for efficient planning and execution alongside your Orders.

Routes at a Glance

Your go-to place for managing all planned deliveries. Here, you can:

  • Optimise Dispatch: Assign routes to drivers or contractors for efficient execution.

  • Track Progress: Monitor the live status of each route and compare actual performance against expectations.

  • Maintain Control: Edit stops within routes, configure driver tasks, add/remove tags, and print route sheets for reference.

  • Boost Efficiency: Seamlessly add new orders to existing routes for optimized delivery planning.

Route Planning At A Glance

The missing link between Orders / Services and Routes. Route Planning allows you to obtain optimal Routes from your Orders and Services by considering various factors, such as delivery times, geography, vehicle types, break durations, cost of distance and time.

Resources At A Glance

Every great delivery starts with a strong foundation. The Resources menu is the place for setting up the delivery dream team, the drivers and the vehicles that will power your last-mile success.

Communication At A Glance

Customers and users demand transparency and information at every step. Automated, customisable and trigger-based communications allow you to keep them informed throughout the entire delivery journey.

Organization At A Glance

Your central hub for team collaboration and streamlined partner connection. Use it to invite your team members to the TMS, assign them specific roles with tailored access levels, and connect with your external partners, such as contractors or sister companies, within the TMS.

Profile Settings At A Glance

Use it to update your display name in the TMS, change your password and select the time zone settings based on your location.
