What are Planned Estimates?
Planned Estimates show the expected arrival time for each stop on a route - based on your current plan. They’re not fixed and can change if you make adjustments before or during the route.
Think of them as your “best current guess” for when each stop will happen, based on what’s planned right now.
Why is this helpful?
You get realistic and timely updates as plans evolve.
You can communicate better with drivers and recipients.
You avoid surprises, like deliveries being earlier or later than expected.
You keep your planning flexible—but still predictable.
When are Planned Estimates created?
They’re automatically added when you create a route - so you can see ETAs right away.
If the route came from a route optimization tool, those ETAs are used. Otherwise, the system calculates them from scratch.
What causes the ETAs to change?
Planned Estimates update whenever something important about the route changes.
Things that update ETAs:
You add, remove, or reorder stops
You edit a stop, like changing the delivery window or address
A stop’s status changes back to “Not Visited”
You change the type of vehicle for the route
In the following example, you’ll see how the estimated arrival times update when a stop’s address is changed—helping you instantly understand the impact of even small adjustments to your route.
Things that don’t change ETAs:
Updating contact info (name, phone, email)
Adding notes or instructions for the driver
Assigning a driver, contractor, or vehicle
These details don’t affect the route’s timing - so the estimates stay as they are.
Best practices
Review the estimates before dispatching. Make sure they reflect the latest plan.
Minimize unnecessary edits. Every change can update the ETAs.
Let the system do the work. You don’t need to calculate anything—just keep your route up to date.
Summary
Planned Estimates give you a clear view of when each stop is expected - and keep updating if your plan changes. They help you stay realistic, flexible, and in control of your delivery schedule from start to finish.
